PAT PUESTOW MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

In Memory of Patricia Louise Puestow

June 23, 1941 – August 27, 1998

Pat was employed as service manager for Born Heating & Air-conditioning of Davenport for 21 years.  She joined the Quad City Chapter of NAWIC in 1980.  She served as chapter secretary in 1981-82 and as chapter president in 1988-89 and again in 1996-97.  She also served as director for many years and held the office of vice-president for many terms.  She served on several committees, including Block Kids, Forum steering committee, Scholarship, Scholarship Auction, and golf outing from 1981 until her death in 1998.  She also helped with the local CSI tradeshow for many years.  Pat lost her battle with breast cancer at the age of 57.

In 1998, the NAWIC Quad City Chapter No. 50 voted to honor Pat’s memory by designating one scholarship award each year as the Pat Puestow Memorial Scholarship.  Each year, the proceeds from one or more items at the annual Scholarship Auction are designated for this special scholarship award. 

Funds from the Las Vegas Condo auction are always “earmarked” for this award because Pat was among a group of NAWIC members who successfully bid on the auction one year and took a NAWIC road trip to Las Vegas.

Pat was a very special lady who believed in helping others and also believed that the best way a young person could help themselves was through education and hard work.
